Where you place your wedding cake matters more than you may think.

If you are planning a wedding then chances are you are probably putting some level of thought and effort into choosing a cake flavor, color, style, and all of the options and ideas that come with creating the dessert of your special day. Wedding cakes are more than just a sweet treat. Often, when all is said and done, they are a personal statement of taste, and even a work of art.

Have you put any thought into where it will be displayed? Having photographed and filmed weddings for the past twenty years for couples all of the world, we have had the good fortune of being referred by, and working alongside, many notable wedding planners. One thing we notice about hiring a talented planner is that they take every detail into consideration, and one of the most overlooked details is the placement of the cake.

Assuming that, like most engaged couples, you are foregoing a wedding decor expert I want to share a quick tip regarding the placement of the wedding cake. With the exception of a very select few facilities, we have found that recepetion venues rarely put a lot of thought into the placement of the cake. However, believe it or not, cake placement can do a lot to enhance your photographs, and even the decor of your event.
