THE BLIZZARD
Our Home the day after the January blizzard of 2016
We have been so lucky this year in regards to weather in the northeast... Fingers crossed of course. While New York and DC got hit hard with the Blizzard of 2016 we only got about 8 inches of snow, and it's really the only storm this year to force me to get the snowblower out. However, we have a pretty big piece of property, so it takes several hours to dig out even when it's under a foot. The plow man last season cost us about the same as a mortgage payment some months, and truth be told, I had to snow blow the driveway either way because we get huge 7' drifts off of the corn field next door. So, this year I just decided to do it all myself.

Behind the scenes of our photography careers we have been quite busy even though it is technically our down time. Wedding bookings are up, and we are over 50% booked for the year already as we only take on a limited number of weddings in order to be able to deliver on our promise of great service and exquisite quality. One of the coolest things about our clients is that they turn to us for anything and everything art related. Jennifer just wrapped and delivered a one of a kind hand bound album that chronicled one of our clients lives for a birthday gift. She hand tore the edges of photographs, created fine art custom matting on each page with natural papers, and laid it out beautifully. Our client were in love with it, and although it took a massive amount of time to produce we are proud to have done it.

Jennifer has been baking up a storm lately, and one of her favorite cakes growing up was a Cherry Nut Cake. A lot of people don't realize that Jennifer's mom was a professional baker. So, throughout her childhood she got lots of first hand experience helping her mom. Her dad is also an amazing cook, and she must have gotten the best of them because Jennifer shines in the kitchen. Great food, and home entertaining is a passion of ours. You have to try out her recipe for a Chocolate Glazed Cherry Nut Cake in the At Home section here on Together In Style.

We are passionate about educating and helping aspiring filmmakers, and with 20 years of experience we have a lot to share. Like Kevin Spacey says.... "If you succeed, you have to send the elevator back down and help others reach the top"!
FASHION AND ART
charles Maring Starting a new painting in the studio, which will become a fashion garment once complete.
On the fashion and art front I've been working hard in the early morning hours and often late at night painting some new large scale oil paintings. However, we have hit our first bump in the road in this fine art journey into the world of fashion design. Our manufacturer, who we have spent a lot of money with creating samples, is suddenly closing their doors because they can't get more venture capital to continue. Luckily we have done our research, and have secured a new manufacturer. New samples are on the way, and assuming they have the build quality and features we are looking for, we should be all set to launch charleestyle.com within a few weeks if not sooner. While it's money spent, we are focused on prevailing, so keep us in your thoughts as we work towards the solutions.
