ART, LIFE, and IMPROVISATION
We are sheltered in place at home for the most part, and doing everything we can to stay creatively motivated during these challenging times. We are, in a word, improvising. And, it’s dawned on me that improvisation is something that our life has centered around for a very long time. Whether creating an abstract painting, performing on the guitar, or behind the camera the real magic resides in the space between honed skills, talent, and knowledge. Those that can improvise extremely well are simply different from those who color inside the lines. Improvisation is also key in business and is an important life skill as well. As artists we are constantly on the look out for new ideas because time and time again we’ve seen how important it is to be able to re-invent ourselves. Beyond the surface, and the joy it brings, this knowledge is why we are exploring new areas and concepts of what it means to be an artist on an ongoing basis.
We don’t just want to be alive… We want to live with passion for our projects. Even with events and wedding photography on pause we continue to seek out new ways to succeed and be the best versions of ourselves. The future is uncertain, yet we are finding ourselves coming up with bold and brave new ideas that could propel us forward. More on that, once we make some solid decisions on where we are headed. In this chapter we are creating from home and filling our days with personal projects.
Light and Motion sent us out a Stella CLX-8 Photo Kit to do some tests with, and we started putting that through the paces. Join us BTS as we create some beautiful portraits using the Lumix S1 and Lumix 24-70 f/2.8. We took part in Make Music Day around the world as well this week by doing a live stream performance. The 84x120 abstract oil painting Charles has been working on is evolving as you will see in the video. Lastly PPA has asked Charles to speak on the topic of Fine Art for the 2021 conference assuming all goes as planned and live conferences actually happen. We aren't sure what the future holds, but you can be it will be highly creative no matter where we are. Thanks for joining us, and supporting our creative vision.
