BRIGHTER DAYS
New Music from Outside Reality
LIVE RECORDED PRACTICE JAM SPUN INTO A MUSIC VIDEO
While I love rock'n roll, I am also a huge fan of country music. In fact, most of the songs I write on the acoustic somehow come out with a country vibe at first, and then I take it to the band, and they put a spin on it that I couldn't have envisioned if I wanted to. That is the coolest part of collaborative art! Brighter days, still comes across with a country flair, but most definitely it's moving more towards southern rock.
To create the video, I blended some old footage captured with my family while sailing in the British Virgin Islands. I grew up sailing with my dad and mom, and the feeling it gives me is pure freedom. This footage was the inspiration for the song as well, and it's just cool to find ways to repurpose footage and memories in a creative way. Music allows me new ways to that.
The band is starting to play out, so a year of work in the studio writing and rehearsing is starting to pay off. But really the best part is that I am having the time of my life creating alongside so long time friends.
