SLEEPLESS

Our Reel Life Chapter 39 "Sleepless". Behind the scenes with photographers, filmmakers, artists, and fashion designers Charles Maring and Jennifer Maring.

This is somewhat of a down week, and yet we are still in constant motion. At home I finally caught a warm enough day to prune the Apple trees and get some late winter work done around the house which was a blessing.

We got back from Florida, where we were taking part in the Lumix Luminary summit, and getting some training on the Lumix GH5 prior to it's launch. Then we headed down to South Beach and made the most of our time together.

As a married couple that works together, we have the most fun when our careers feel like they have momentum. So, we packed a suitcase full of Charlee Fine Art Fashions, and hit the beach. Jennifer is so amazing in front of the camera! In fact, she is so brave that she outperforms most professional models I've ever worked with. I am blessed to have a wife with such confidence and bravery, and together this is how we play...

So, we shot a bunch of Fashion films on the Lumix GH4 and Lumix GX85. I find that I don't even bother taking still photographs for my fashion brand any longer because I can simply pull video frames from my Lumix camera for use in our Instagram feed, as web banners, lifestyle shots, etc... Rarely do I have a reason to take a still photograph unless it's for a client project, which demands it. This is how photography is changing for commercial applications, and even weddings, etc...

While in Connecticut for a few days we have several portrait sessions, post production work, client meetings, and some conference calls. As you will learn in this episode, we are photographing celebrity wedding planner David Tutera's wedding coming up, and we have a lot of planning to do to make sure all goes smoothly. David and Joey's wedding has been quite the buzz on social media, and it's coming up fast so lot's of plans and discussions to make sure we can deliver our best for them.

I've been packing gear all day, then I am off to band practice, with an early AM flight. We are headed back to Florida for a destination wedding in Boca Raton. We definitely lead a busy lifestyle, but we wouldn't want it any other way.
