SNOW DAY

We had a snow day this week after a blizzard came howling through dumping a foot and a half of snow at our doorstep. Winters in Connecticut have their challenges especially for those of us who make our living as artists, as photography and filmmaking is definitely a seasonal business. In the summer months we can book most any weekend date 3-4 times over, so we save up to survive the winter months.

On the flip side, a slow season equals incredible opportunities to grow in new directions and cater to our wedding clients who got married in the summer months. If it wasn't for this, I wouldn't have the time to paint, design a fashion line, and create new products. 

We are excited as we just booked a wedding in Boca Raton, Florida. We use Skype for meetings, and every time we use it, I am always amazed. We can communicate with people all over the world in several different locations, and it's like we are sitting in the same room. So if you are planning a destination wedding or have a project anywhere in the world, just know that you should look beyond your local area and find the artist of your dreams. The world really isn't that big of a place anymore.

Well, we are all dug out of the snow, but it snowed again last night. So, I will be out shoveling this morning, but then it's off to NYC for a night of fashion as we are attending a fashion show, and taking our nephew along for the ride.
