The Half King NYC
The Half King
I remember the first time I visited The Half King like it was yesterday, because it was the day we signed the lease on our first apartment in New York just a few doors down. This small pub on 10th and 23rd wasn't anything to write home about, yet it had a charm that still warms our hearts every time we think about it. It's dark, generally busy, open very late into the morning hours, and it has great pub style food that has never once disappointed us in all the years we've been visiting. It's a simple place, and I guess that's what makes it work. In the winters it's warm and cozy, and in the summers it's the perfect spot to sit outside. The burgers are incredible FYI, as well as the Chicken Crispers. The staff is cool and laid back, which is the perfect contrast to the pretentious galleries that surround it as it sits in the heart of the gallery district.
