A welcome dinner party in Malibu for David Tutera and Joey Toth's wedding weekend. Photography by MARING VISUALS at Cielo Farms in Malibu.
We were just out in Malibu and Los Angeles photographing the wedding weekend of our good friends David Tutera and Joey Toth who we have had the privilege to work with on numerous assignments with all over the world. You can catch feature stories in People Magazine and The Knot showcasing some of the photographs shared here.
We love these two, along with their beautiful little girl Cielo, and have spent a lot of time with them over the years. So it felt more like a reunion being amongst so many familiar faces. It was heartwarming to say the least.
Just like all special occasions and moments in life, it passes by way too fast. We can really only retain so much, and yet when we think about these moments we would love to feel like we are there. This is what great photography, and/or video do for our lives.
This is why we started capturing small chapters of our life in 4K video, and why we started a vlog. Anyone who has a vlog knows that it is a lot of work, and it has a lot of challenges. But there are so many great reasons to do it that once you get started it's hard to want to stop.
When you take the time to capture your own living story in some ways it takes you away from the moment. Yet, in other ways it allows one to experience the moment on a much deeper level. Since we take the time to do a creative edit each week, we get to spend more time in the moment, relish the feeling, and artistically make the memory feel as it really did. We adore opportunities to give this gift to others and capture their memories creatively as well.
Vlogging is also an incredible way to practice the craft of photography and filmmaking. Practice is what gives way to break throughs in creativity. It's also a transparent and unique way to connect with your clients or potential clients on a deeper level, and share your thoughts, ideas, hopes, and dreams. Besides, with art, it's not business, it's personal.
This was also our first opportunity to photograph a wedding / event on our favorite new camera, the Lumix GH5. We are simply blown away by too many creative features to mention, but you can check out some of our other posts related to this new flagship camera.
We want to send a special thank you, and a big congratulations to David and Joey. Thank you both for having us be alongside you and capture your weekend both as friends and artists.
Till the next chapter...
