Worth Every Penny
Worth Every Penny
Behind the Scenes with Artists Charles and Jennifer Maring
How do you make your art work worth every penny? First keep in mind that you can’t be unique, different, wildly artistic and fit in! That means if you are truly doing great work, you aren’t likely to go viral, or be loved by the masses. This is true in music, painting, photography, video, and any other art form, and if you are smart about it, it just may be the best place to position yourself. Don’t change yourself to be more like the mainstream, it will only lead to depression, and quite honestly mainstream art is cheap and undervalued. Those types of artists are overworked, unhappy, and likely to be gone in a few years.
For longevity, focus on being the best you… that you… can be. You are a one of a kind. You are providing an experience that others can’t because they are too busy treating customers like a number. Instead, focus on quality. Buy the best camera gear, the best frames and presentations for your artwork, etc… Place yourself above it all by being the best, not the busiest. While others are struggling to keep up, you can now place your time towards building long lasting quality relationships with customers, which is very time consuming, but worth it. Reinvest every dollar back into your client experiences, and have the time to make it great. After all this is your craftsmanship, this is your name. Don’t compete on price, and have constant running sales it devalues your name, work, and your time. Rather, know you are the best value because you are only for those with great taste. This takes dedication to craft and client. This is a part of being different, a true artist… In the end this is what makes your work worth every penny.
