FINE ART AND MUSIC
Behind the Scenes with Artists Charles and Jennifer Maring
This week in the Vlog we are home in Connecticut and I break free of my comfort zone by stepping out to perform live on the acoustic at a fine art and music event at Silver City Ballroom. Unlike visual art forms like photography or painting, music has the potential to be highly social. I love people, and so part of my vision moving forward is to get out from behind the camera and computer or canvas and out into the world more often.
Music, as it turns out, is a language we all speak. I write a lot of songs on the acoustic about love, family, places lived and the journey that that being an artist has put me on. Yes, I play in a rock band, but some songs are highly personal and come from a different place inside me. So I’m starting to get out and play solo whenever possible. Music is also opening up opportunities to share my art, and I’m creating ways to blend the art and music together. I’m not really sure where this takes me, but that isn’t the point. The point is to learn, grow, overcome fears, and push myself. I don’t do any of this for the money. Rather enough money somehow appears when I need it, and I’ve learned not to worry too much, and to just keep moving. I do it all because I feel the universe poking at me, and telling me to share this with the world. To be honest, it would be easier to say no and keep doing what I do best. But, I have vowed to myself to allow the universe to guide my actions regardless where it leads. That’s what real artist do. Learn more about my music and art on my personal website CharlesMaring.com
On another note… I just got the Lumix S1 in this past week along with a few lenses so I'm starting to work with the 50mm 1.4 and testing the Lumix Video Autofocus to see just how useable it is. So, we will be sharing more about the Lumix S1 on our channel throughout our journey and via tech talks on YouTube as well.
Thank you for subscribing and joining us on this creative journey as we evolve as artists and entrepreneurs. Cheers... Charles and Jennifer Maring
