Merry Christmas!!!
It's Christmas Day, and after relaxing most of the morning, I thought I would take a moment to post here on Together In Style. Jennifer and I are feeling blessed this day. Last night we were surrounded with love along with our friends and family. Those that couldn't be at home with us we had in our hearts and thoughts, and we miss you. We are feeling so blessed because we spent the past several months in a whirlwind of dedication to our craft and clients. Christmas day is a time of reflection for us, and a time for us to regroup from the demands of our careers.
Like most people, this week we were caught up in, what Jennifer calls the Holiday Runch. We are rushing around with a million projects, and it's crunch time. Come Christmas day and into New Years we try to take some personal time simply because we have burned the candle at both ends since September when the momentum begins each year. We aren't perfect by any means, but we are proud of ourselves for seeing many big photography projects through to completion.
Studio Life
This time of year everyone is feeling the runch! So, we take on portrait sessions right up to the wire. Luckily we have incredible relationships with our printers, and can pull a few favors for our clients this time of year, and get things turned around on a dime. We made some pretty amazing promises, and to make it happen we hand delivered portraits all across the state of Connecticut right up to Christmas Eve Eve... This is what great service is all about, and we are thrilled to be willing and able to make sure our clients get their holiday gifts and cards.
Home Life
We took on so much on the photography front that we couldn't fit any recipes in on the Together In Style site this season. We feel bad, but there are times we have to focus on what pays the bills, and delivering on our promises.
This week I have been to Home Depot countless times as we are also in the middle of several personal projects at home. We are almost done with home improvements in our kitchen, where we had a leak and lost our ceiling. The new ceiling is going to look amazing, but we took some creative risks, that are surely paying off. Our design is definitely original, and the kitchen will have what we are calling a country glamour look when complete. As artists we love DIY design projects in which we can add our personal style stamp to our home. We look forward to sharing the end results.
A cord of wood showed up this week, and I got the privilege of stacking it, only to take notice that some briar bushes are slowly trying to take over our property on all ends. Luckily we haven't needed the wood with this freakish warm winter we are having in the Northeast. The warmth is also giving us an opportunity to get some yard maintenance done as well. Not the most exciting thing to be doing, but glad we can start reclaiming the house and yard!
Christmas Eve
We had an amazing Christmas Eve last night. Santa stopped in with a bag full of gifts for all of the kids. As usual he was very well spirited, if you know what I mean, but with a job like his I suppose it comes with the territory. He drew smiles and laughter from across the room with his incredible acts of kindness and it was an evening to remember.
In this episode of Our Reel Life we are in the car delivering last minute portraits to clients on a rainy night. It will take you behind the scenes of our decorating, and our gear up for the holidays along with some of the personal projects around the house. Thank you to all of our friends, family, and clients for making our dreams come true. We are truly honored to have the opportunity to create photographs, films, and art for you, and we want to thank you all for your unending support.
