We just crossed the one year mark since we re-launched the Together In Style website, and it's been an interesting journey to say the least. We want to thank anyone and everyone who has participated, commented, or just logged on and watch us grow the site. Jennifer and I made a commitment to create content video based content regularly, and we managed to post multiple films, stories, and images multiple times per week. So, this episode of OUR REEL LIFE is dedicated to some of the ideas we have worked on.
Just over a year ago we set out on this creative journey with a few ideas of what we thought Together In Style could be, and along the way we have evolved organically by simply trying new ideas and sharing them with our audience without expecting anything in return. It's paid off so many times over as it has allowed us to hone our skills on an even deeper level, grow our vision, and prepare us for big things to come. They say luck favors the prepared mind. Together In Style has become a big part of how we prepare, and we are ready to be challenged creatively because of it.
Some have been perplexed regarding the content we have been creating and sharing because are are photographers and filmmakers by trade. But there is actually an explanation for everything we have been creating and sharing. We started by simply sharing from the heart, and have evolved it from there... Here is an explanation....
Together In Style - Food and Home Entertaining...
Many people don't realize but home entertaining, cooking, baking, and food photography has been a big part of our lives and our careers for decades. We've co-created books filled with interior design, fashion, recipes, and more with celebrity party planner David Tutera. Jennifer's mom also baked wedding cakes for a living so she grew up around creative food ideas. So, we knew we should have a focus on home entertaining.
Fashion and Beauty...
Clients come to us for style advice all the time, and we often create look books with ideas for the shoots that we do. Jennifer has always had a keen sense of style as well. We felt that we could create our own sort of look book by simply creating short fashion films and photo-shoots. It's been incredible practice, and at the same time we can offer up timeless ideas for portraits and speak with confidence about style.
Weddings...
Our careers started with photographing weddings, and we still capture nuptials but we limited our weddings to approximately 25 lucky couples per year. With two decades of wedding experience photographing lavish celebrity weddings around the world we knew we could share expert advice that couples could count on.
Technology and Entrepreneurship...
We have succeeded at making a great living as artist and entrepreneurs now for quite some time. We give speeches all over the world, and even keynotes, at many of the largest technology and imaging conferences in the world. We have chaired the International Photography Awards several times over as well. So, when it comes to technology, imaging, and living the dream as an artist, we have plenty of advice to share.
OUR REEL LIFE
An now onto the OUR REEL LIFE web-series. Where else can you get to truly know an artist, a product, or a company so well? This web show started simply because we wanted to capture our own personal journey. Looking back, we don't have a lot of historical footage of our lives because were are always behind the camera capturing the life of our clients. So, we started capturing footage behind the scenes, in our car, etc... One day I sat down to look at it and to try and edit some of it together. We thought it was fun enough to share. Now it's become a passion of ours and a way for us to interact and communicate with others. We are sharing our life, our thoughts, dreams, and passions simply out of gratitude for the love we have received from so many clients, friends, and colleagues. It's just great fun...
NEXT YEAR...
We don't plan on stopping anytime soon. While Together In Style adds a lot more work and effort to our plates, it's also something we have enjoyed creating immensely. We hope that in some way the website, the shows, and the content inspire you to think creatively, and live each day with passion Together In Style!
