A PHOTOGRAPHER’S JOURNEY

SHINE is a for all the photographers out there! The lyrics paint a picture of what it's like to be a storyteller and portrait artist. Over the past 20 years the camera has allowed me to travel the world photographing interesting people and places. I create a massive amount of personal work, but am often commissioned to create for others.
This is very much a real story, but also one that I hope relates to other photographers out there trying to live the dream as a professional photographer. The music video is filled with video clips and photographs that I created over the past decade or so. I animated it all frame by frame with computer algorithms, which is a very slow process. It takes a full day just animate 20-30 seconds of video on a Mac Pro.
Beyond the camera I am a singer songwriter, and much like my photography, I write to tell stories about this incredible journey of life. Most of my songs start out very simply on an acoustic guitar, and evolve from there with the help of good friends and some very talented musicians. I play out solo with an acoustic, and also with a 5 piece band with long time friends. Shine is part of a solo project that I worked on with multi-instrumentalist and producer Erick Lichter of Dirt Floor recording and production in Haddam, CT.
